Biography

Nick Bain is the seventh generation of his family born in Alcorn County. A graduate of Alcorn Central High School, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ole Miss and a law degree from Mississippi College.

Nick began his legal career practicing in Jackson for two years before returning home to open his own law firm. He has served as Managing Partner of BainBowen, PLLC since its founding in October 2007. The general practice firm includes three attorneys with over 80 years’ combined legal experience. Nick also serves as City Attorney for Kossuth and is a past Municipal Judge in Corinth.

Nick was elected three times to the Mississippi House of Representatives serving from 2012-2024. He was Chairman of the House Judiciary B Committee where he led the fight for Mississippi’s conservative values. Nick co-authored the landmark law that overturned Roe v. Wade. He spent hours on the House floor arguing in support of the law that prohibited gender transition surgeries on those under age 18, a law he co-authored. Nick was also a leader in creation of the Capitol Complex Improvement District (CCID) which resulted in additional state resources for law enforcement officers to crackdown on crime in Jackson.

In recognition of his support for conservative values, small businesses, and law enforcement, Nick received numerous awards:
• American Conservative Union, Patrick J. Nolan Award for Criminal Justice Leadership
• GOPAC, Rising Star
• BIPEC of Mississippi, six-time Champion of Business and Industry
• Mississippi Highway Patrol, Legislative Leadership Award
• Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, Legislator of the Year

Nick and his wife, Lesley, live in Corinth with their three kids, Baylee Anna, Brooks, and Baker. He is a former member of the Mississippi Ethics Commission and the Christian Action Commission of the Mississippi Baptist Association. Nick is also a past deacon at Oakland Baptist Church.
